Lisa Segar
Yoga Therapy Intern

E-RYT 200, RYT 500, PCA-YT, Therapeutic Yoga, Pain Care Yoga and Restorative Yoga Certified,  RN, BSN, CWOCN

Hello, I'm Lisa Segar. I believe that the practice of yoga can be mood changing, mind changing and life changing. My personal experience with yoga and the way it changed my life is what guides me in my studies and work in the field of Yoga Therapy. It is my mission to help others remember themselves through the methods and philosophies of this sacred practice.

I began practicing yoga in 2015 as a way to reconnect with my sense of self. The physical practice of asana immediately resonated with me. However, I soon discovered that the deep spiritual connection I was experiencing with myself was what kept me coming back. Through the study of the eight-limbs of yoga I was was able to regain a sense of wholeness and healing.  Simply put, the practice of the eight limbs of yoga put me back in touch with my most authentic self.

In 2016 I began my formal study of yoga. A love of the practice, and a love of learning, have continued to guide me on the path of my personal yoga journey. Grounded  in my yoga teacher trainings, my background as a nurse, and a call to serve, I began my studies to pursue a certification in Yoga Therapy in 2021.

I approach my clients individual needs with the belief that yoga is for everyone. Through the use of mindfulness (meditation), mudra & mantra, breath work (pranayama), and movement (asana), and supported by sacred yoga text and philosophy, my goal is to offer you a Yoga Therapy experience that meets you where you are. Whether your ae seeking guidance for relief from acute or chronic pain, chronic disease, skeletal imbalances, depression or anxiety, changing seasons of life, or grief, or if you just want to deepen your personal yoga practice, together we will shift the focus from the external to the internal. As we honor our unique physical forms and abilities, we can begin to deepen into our unique spiritual forms.

When I am not on my yoga mat, I can be found spending time with my husband Kurtis, our four children and 2 dogs. Loving life and enjoying music, books, nature and friends.
