What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga. ~International Association of Yoga Therapists

Yoga Therapy uses traditional Yoga practices, including movement, breath work, and mindfulness to treat mindbody issues, and to cultivate a sense of well-being within the client.

Why Yoga Therapy?

Unlike a traditional yoga class, this is not a vinyasa based practice, though movement may be prescribed. Yoga Therapy is taught in private individual sessions, or small group sessions, with the client's specific healing goals in mind. Through intake and inquiry, a personalized practice will be used to target the client's specific healing needs for optimal health and wellness.

Who Benefits from Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy can be used to treat a number of conditions experienced by mid-life women, including depression, anxiety, grief and stress related issues. Experiences with pain, skeletal deviations and osteoporosis can be improved through Yoga Therapy. Done in a safe setting, with a qualifed Yoga Therapist, Yoga Therapy can enhance the quality of life.
